Yahoo News Emmerdale airs major Ruby twist in latest episode
Emmerdale spoilers follow from Friday's episode (December 6), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX but hasn't yet aired on ITV1.
Emmerdale has set the stage for Ruby Fox-Miligan's special episode by mentioning a mysterious face from her past.
The ITV soap is about to delve deeper into Ruby's backstory following the recent arrival of her daughter Steph and father Anthony.
Ever since Ruby's family members arrived in the village, she has seemed unsettled around her dad.
Ruby's husband Caleb has urged her to make an effort with Anthony for Steph's sake, but her repeated refusals have hinted at dark secrets which are still to be revealed.

In Friday's episode, Anthony continued to make Ruby feel uncomfortable by mentioning Rob, a guy that she knew when she was a teenager.
Ruby was visibly unhappy when Anthony questioned whether she was still in touch with Rob. She tried to change the subject, but Anthony refused to drop it.
He remarked: "You two were so close growing up, I just wondered what he was up to now.
"It's a shame [you're not in contact] – your mother and I always assumed that Rob was Stephanie's father."

Ruby was stunned by Anthony's comment, although it's currently unclear whether there's any truth to his theory. Steph was introduced to the show as Ruby and Caleb's estranged daughter last month.
Emmerdale bosses have confirmed that next Thursday's episode (December 12) will feature flashbacks to 1992 as Ruby's past is revealed.
Steph finds a photo showing Ruby on her 16th birthday and is confused when her mum says that she doesn't remember it.
Flashbacks then show the day in question, with a teenage Ruby featuring in scenes with Rob.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
