Emmerdale has aired a worrying new twist for Tom King and Amelia Spencer.
Tom recently started dating Amelia following the end of his marriage as a way to get revenge on his estranged wife Belle Dingle.
Belle has since publicly revealed Tom was emotionally and physically abusive during their marriage. Tom was subsequently sacked at the veterinary surgery before he fled the village out of fear of repercussions.
In Friday's (September 13) episode, Lydia and Charity rallied around Belle to assure her she's not on her own.
"You're welcome to come home anytime," Lydia told her. "That goes without saying, but I'll say it again anyway."

Belle thanked Lydia for the offer but decided to stay with Charity at Jacobs Fold because she felt safe there. Lydia then brought up the possibility of calling the police on Tom.
"What's the point? He's gone now," Belle argued.
She then admitted: "I need to know where Tom is. I need to know whether Cain has done something stupid."
In the village, Amelia accused Belle of having something to do with Tom's disappearance. Belle ignored the accusation as she walked away.

Belle then approached Cain, demanding to know whether he'd gotten rid of Tom. Cain promised he'd not taken any kind of revenge, but admitted he wished he had done.
The episode concluded with a disturbing cliffhanger where Amelia met up with Tom in the woods.
"I need you to keep on being my eyes and ears for me," Tom told her. "It took guts to walk away from a bad marriage, even if I was practically Belle's carer half the time."
He added: "You want to know why I'm doing all this? I want a divorce and then we can finally be free of her."
The episode concluded with Amelia agreeing to tell nobody that she'd seen Tom. Amelia promised she wouldn't rest until everyone believed in his innocence.
Will Amelia discover the truth before it's too late?
