Emmerdale's Debbie Dingle could be tempted to forgive her scheming boyfriend Tom Waterhouse after he tried to talk himself out of trouble in tonight's episode (January 3).
Tom (Ned Porteous) was finally rumbled in Tuesday's hour-long special, as Debbie discovered that he's the mastermind behind the proposed golf course development in the village, which is threatening her grandparents Zak and Lisa's home.
Debbie (Charley Webb) only uncovered the truth when Tom tricked her into signing off on the deal as a witness during her first day of working with him at the office.
Following her discovery, Debbie was so furious that she nearly cut ties with Tom for good – but became torn over what to do when he begged for her forgiveness tonight.
Paying a visit to Debbie, Tom desperately tried to fob her off with several feeble excuses – insisting that he loved her and didn't want to lose her.
He even offered to pull out of the golf course deal if Debbie agreed to give him another chance, but Charity was livid at what she was hearing and exposed his duplicity to the rest of the Dingles.
But while Debbie's family were equally furious about her boyfriend's actions, it became increasingly evident that Debbie was starting to doubt her decision to finish with Tom – much to Charity's horror.
With Debbie torn over whether to stand by Tom or not, fans will have to tune in to tomorrow's episode to find out whether she ultimately does decide to forgive him.
However, with viewers convinced that there is still more to be revealed about the mysterious newcomer, could Debbie be making a terrible mistake if she does?
