Emmerdale confirms Samson Dingle exit
Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale has confirmed Samson Dingle's exit from the soap after 18 years.
Tuesday's (August 6) episode saw Samson sentenced to four years behind bars after he was arrested for attacking former friend Josh Cope.
There was speculation over who'd grassed on him in the latest instalment, with Cain suspecting that Moira may have done it as revenge for Samson framing Matty for the stabbing at The Hide.
Lydia arrived at the Woolpack to share the news that Samson had been sentenced to prison. She then turned against Moira by directly blaming her for grassing on Samson.
"You're wrong, my dear. It wasn't me," Moira insisted.

Cain stuck up for Moira, telling Lydia: "I believe her because she's my wife. Look, she's told you how she feels, now look somewhere else for your grass."
With the Dingle family more divided than ever, Sam Dingle had to take his son Samson to check into prison. After an emotional scene where the two said they loved each other, Sam broke down as Samson was led off to serve his sentence.
Throughout the episode, Amelia Spencer was concerned about the prospect of baby Esther's father, Samson, being locked away in prison. Amelia fretted to her boyfriend Noah Dingle that, with her own father Dan Spencer already locked up, Esther's life would be harder with her father imprisoned too.

Noah had given Amelia his phone to order a takeaway when she discovered that the last number he'd called was the police.
"You grassed on Samson, didn't you?" Amelia realised.
Noah defended his actions, claiming Samson could have killed Josh if he hadn't intervened. A furious Amelia ordered him to get out as the episode closed.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
