Emmerdale death 'confirmed' as fans 'expose' identity of Caleb Milligan's daughter - and her link to Jamie Tate

Emmerdale enthusiasts are convinced they've figured out the identity of Ruby (Beth Cordingly) and Caleb Milligan's (Will Ash) secret daughter after Tuesday's episode sent shockwaves through the village.

Caleb was seen making a foreboding visit to Ruby's mother Helen (Sharon Maughan) in her hospital room. The encounter was far from amicable as he menaced Helen with threats, resorting to blackmail for money so she could see her own daughter before passing away.

In the heat of their charged exchange, Ruby's alienated mum dropped a hint about their daughter, an allusion that did not sit well with Caleb. While viewers are aware that Caleb and Ruby share a son named Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope ), who has since left the village with his boyfriend, the mention of an estranged daughter raises questions about a possible dramatic reappearance.

As the scene unfolded, Helen, confined to her hospital bed, confessed: "I am sure it is of little consequence to you to know I am dying."

Responding with stark indifference, Caleb retorted: "Yeah, you said on the phone," with a callous disregard, adding: "I doubt you'd dare get in touch otherwise, you knew the reception you'd get," reports Leeds Live.

He went on to declare: "Let me tell you, this doesn't change anything, I am still not telling Ruby, I love her too much. She is just some lame attempt to clear your conscience for disowning her before you pop off."

Desperate, Helen implored: "My daughter has a right to know that I am dying," stressing the urgency of reconciling unfinished family matters.

Caleb expressed his deep-seated resentment as he revealed: "I know you paid me to ditch her and I know when she got pregnant, you tried to force her to abort our child and I know you turfed her out with nothing and she wouldn't."

Ruby's mother confessed the burden of her actions, saying: "I have had to live with that my entire life," to which Caleb retorted: "And now you'll have to die with it."

The tension escalated when Ruby's mother inquired, "Tell me, have you seen anything of Stephanie?" prompting Caleb's furious response: "Don't you dare even say my kids' names, do you hear me?"

As the episode concluded, Caleb presented an ultimatum involving a substantial payment for Helen to see Ruby again, stating, "When the money lands in my account, I will speak to Ruby," before exiting the hospital room.

Post-episode, fans were abuzz on social media, speculating about the family ties within the show. One viewer speculated on X: "Kids? Plural! Who is Steph?! Technically translates as 'More Tates'."

Another fan pondered the whereabouts of Steph, suggesting: "So where is Steph? Here's a theory... she is now abroad and has met Joe Tate or Jamie on her travels....thus making her a part of the family already."

A third viewer threw in another intriguing possibility: "Oooooh I wonder if Caleb got Ruby's mum pregnant and the child was his?? #Emmerdale."

Meanwhile, another comment hinted at a potential familial link: "Feel like Ruby and Rose might be related... #emmerdale."

In Emmerdale, fans speculated on social intricacies as one viewer highlighted: "Did anyone else notice Caleb saying 'don't you dare mention my kids' names' (PLURAL! ! ) There's more than Nicky or did we already know this? Anyone? "

Meanwhile, there was tension as Amy Wyatt, played by Natalie Jamieson, reached out to Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell), concerning Tom King's (James Chase) situation amid Belle Dingle's (Eden Taylor-Draper) troubling allegations.

As the plot thickened, Tom appeared to be manipulating Amelia just like he previously did with Belle, sparking concerns on how far he may go for retribution against his spouse.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
