Emmerdale divides fans with Bob and Laurel twist

Emmerdale viewers may have been mostly focused on the big Who Killed Emma? reveal in tonight's (December 14) double bill, but there was another development that got fans talking.

As the episodes played out, Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) was soon ruled out as a suspect in Emma's murder as it was revealed that she had an alibi for the time that Emma died – she was sleeping with Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw).

The soap established that Laurel was keeping some kind of secret shortly following Emma's death after she was caught out in a lie by Gabby and was later seen asking her sister Caroline to help her cover her tracks.

The early November episode even saw Laurel confiding in Bob about her guilt, with Bob replying that she has to stick to her story because "the alternative doesn't bear thinking about".

So the clues were all there, but did you see the cheating twist coming?
