Emmerdale fans 'work out' who 'dies' after being trapped under ice - and its not Anthony

Emmerdale fans have seemingly worked out who will die in the upcoming frozen lake stunt. The ITV soap recently teased fans with a trailer featuring flashforward clips.

The tense scenes featured a string of popular characters including Caleb Miligan (William Ash), Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), as well as a mystery hand being trapped under an icy lake.

More details about the ice stunt then followed as the soap confirmed the scene had been filmed during night shoots before Christmas and required the expertise of a special effects company to create the frozen lake which sits at the village’s edge. But who is under the ice, and will they survive?

Newcomer Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) was a favourite among fans to be trapped in the frozen lake after it was revealed he had sexually abused his daughter Ruby (Beth Cordingly) as a teenager.

However, Anthony is due to meet his deadly end in next week episodes when a gunshot rings out leaving him dead. A 'whodunit' is set to follow as the details about his murder start to unfold.

Emmerdale fans are now predicting Billy Fletcher (Billy Fletcher) is the person trapped in the frozen lake. Over the past few months, Billy has been caught-up in illegal boxing, a kidnap ordeal and also suffered the loss of his dad-in-law Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) at Christmas.

Will died after suffering a heart attack leaving his daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley) heartbroken and into the arms of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) as the pair grow closer. Will Dawn's betrayal with the local villain be the downfall of Billy?

Taking to Reddit, one viewer asked: "Who will be trapped below the ice?", as one person replied: "Someone who wears a wedding ring", while another simply added: "Billy."

"Since people are saying it looks more like a man’s hand, and we can see a wedding ring, Maybe Billy? There’s a lot of drama going on at Home Farm and they seem to be blowing up Dawn’s life so", suggested one fan.

"I hope it’s not Billy. I like him", pleaded another. Emmerdale viewers will have to wait and see.
