Emmerdale fans make the same desperate plea to ITV bosses after late start

Emmerdale took to social media this evening with a ‘get on with it!’ plea to ITV.

This came because the broadcaster’s coverage of Euro 2024 overran. While the pundits were dissecting Poland v Austria on ITV1 lots of frustrated Emmerdale fans made their thoughts clear on X.

We saw @RyanTheSoapking post: “Come on #Emmerdale I've been off for two weeks. Why are you running late? At least EastEnder are staying on time.”

Another viewer @TellyVsPodcasts posted: “Okay. Time for soaps now please. Enough sports changing the schedule #emmerdale.”

While @PriceXMark commented: “@ITV the football match has finished. Put emmerdale on.”

We'd love to know what you think on this matter. Should the soaps be rescheduled to show the Euros? Let us know in the poll below. If you can't see the poll, click here.

Another Emmerdale fan, @Surfingspaniel wrote: “Stop waffling, where’s our #Emmerdale.” We saw @blokeonradio add: “Football football waffle waffle blah blah blah. Shurrup and get #Emmerdale on.”

While @LukeHayesII1 said: “#Emmerdale running late again.” Friday evening’s edition of Emmerdale eventually began at 7.34pm. In recent weeks, we’ve reported many Emmerdale viewers being frustrated by the schedule disruption caused by ITV’s airing of the men’s European football matches.

During Friday evening's episode, Emmerdale viewers saw Belle lie to abusive partner Tom about having a miscarriage.
