Emmerdale fans 'work out' Stephanie’s real mum in Kim Tate DNA twist - and it's not Ruby
Emmerdale Stephanie Miligan’s real mum is not actually Ruby, fans have claimed.
The soap newcomer (Georgia Jay) made her bombshell arrival last week and is the estranged daughter of Caleb (William Ash) and Ruby (Beth Cordingly). Stephanie was mentioned for the first time a few months ago, following the death of Ruby’s mum Helen (Sharon Maughan).
And during Friday’s episode (November 15) Steph rocked up the Dales, just as Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) was about to crush Caleb to death. However, it was clear that Steph was only in the village to get her inheritance from her late grandmother Helen.
And this week, things are set to take a dramatic turn when Steph and Ruby come face to face. Things escalate quickly, so much so, that Ruby violently lashes out at Steph as they clash over the past.

However, fans are certain that a shock DNA twist is on the cards, with viewers certain Ruby isn’t Steph’s biological mum. Sharing their thoughts online people reckon her real mother could be none other than soap legend Kim Tate (Claire King).
“Great casting for Caleb and Ruby’s daughter,” said one person on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page. However, other fans were quick to share a game-changing theory.
Someone else replied: “I’m saying it now Kim Tate is her real mother!” A third proclaimed: “They do look very similar! And same ruthless behaviour too, you might be onto something!” Another fan mused: “I would love this. Anything is possible!”
Talking about her character, Georgia previously explained Steph is in for an unhappy family reunion: "She comes back into the village, I think it has been a decade or so, and there's some conflict between mum Ruby and Caleb.
"I can't say too much about it, but it is an exciting storyline to be coming into, the past will be revealed of why she hasn't been in the picture for so long."
Georgia added: "I can say when she sees dad and mum for the first time, she's not there to stay - it's more 'I want something then I'm going to leave'. She wants nothing to do with [it], and just wants to get the money and go.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
