Emmerdale has revealed a dramatic twist in Anthony Fox's murder storyline as the real killer was revealed to be Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly). But fans of the ITV soap think they know when Anthony's dead body will be discovered - and it's soon.

Last week, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) targeted evil Anthony (Nicholas Day) with a brutal beating at Caleb Miligan's (William Ash) depot. When he fled from the scene, Anthony was still alive but when Aaron returned to the warehouse, he was dead.

Aaron's boyfriend John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) calmly stepped in to take control of the situation and disposed of the body, dealing with the crime scene and stopping Aaron from confessing to anyone.

On Thursday (January 30), Anthony's real killer was confirmed as struggling Aaron went to confess to Ruby. Aaron made this big decision after realising that his ongoing battle with guilt was adversely affecting his mental health.

In tense scenes, Aaron told Ruby that he targeted her dad for revenge after realising that Anthony had sexually abused Ruby when she was a teenager. This brought back traumatic memories of his own abuse ordeal with his father Gordon.

In a major curveball, Ruby told Aaron: "You didn't kill him – I did." Flashback scenes then showed how Ruby had arrived at the depot in between Aaron's two visits.

After spotting Aaron fleeing from the scene, Ruby found Anthony in a bad way on the floor, but still alive. Revealing that Anthony triggered her by grabbing her, Ruby explained: "I turned to go, then he touched me and something inside me just snapped.

"I wasn't looking down at my father anymore – I was looking down at the thing that had ruined my life."

After suffocating Anthony, Ruby confessed to her husband Caleb that day.

Earlier this week, John and Aaron discarded Anthony's car and John has since refused to confirm what he did with Anthony's dead body. However, Emmerdale fans think John has thrown the corpse into the lake, but it will be discovered in February when a terrifying car crash is going to take place involving a frozen lake, with multiple lives hanging in the balance.

Taking to social media, one person wrote: "I think we may get a flashback in the future showing John was the one who actually killed Anthony. "

They added: "In the flashback we will see him disposing of the body in the river like we saw at New Year in the flash forward. The body will float and sink and when they have the car crash in February and someone is trapped under the ice, they will discover the body whilst down there."

A second stated: "Surely we are gonna see the flash forward at some point of pushing a body in the river/ lake #Emmerdale. It’s got to be Anthony in there surely."

A third person asked: "Why is John being so cagey about where he’s hidden the body? #Emmerdale." While another added: "I'm guessing so they can keep it as a surprise when it gets dragged out of the icy water when looking for survivors at the lake accident."

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
