Emmerdale fans 'work out' who's pretending to be Nate as death 'sealed' - and it's not John
Emmerdale viewers are certain Nate Robinson is dead - with an unlikely villager ‘pretending to be him.’
Nate (Jurell Carter) was last seen on the soap last week, following a clash with his father Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley). He was accused of kissing his stepmother Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) due to a misunderstanding related to her health issues - which turned out to be a brain tumour.
Before this, Nate had landed a job in Scotland, coinciding with actor Jurell Carter's exit from the ITV soap. He had informed his wife Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh), who planned to relocate with him and their child Frankie.
However, after learning about his and Moira's 'kiss', she also doubted him, leading her to ask him to leave permanently. Yet, over the week, Nate was nowhere to be found - with several characters trying to locate him and get in touch.

What’s more, once Tracy learned that Nate didn’t actually kiss Moira and she forced him out for no reason, she was heartbroken. And during Monday’s episode (September 16) Tracy received a devastating update about Nate - but fans think something is up.
During the instalment, Tracy was sent a text message from Nate who revealed he was in Scotland. He wrote to her: “Settled in. Heads a mess don't call me I'll call you when I'm ready,” which left her rather emotional.
But now fans reckon that Nate is actually dead and someone is using his phone, pretending to be him. And while many people think mysterious newcomer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) could be behind Nate’s disappearance, other fans think it’s someone else. Sharing their thoughts online, viewers claimed it could be soap baddie Tom King (James Chase) who has been abusing wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) for the past few months.
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person said: “Come on now, someone has Nate's phone and texting Tracy so I really feel that he is dead.” In the comments section, a second fan agreed: “Don't think it was Nate....someone got his phone.” A third mused: “It’s not Nate texting her I reckon it's Tom.”
Another chimed in and proclaimed: “Tom’s done something to Nate!!” A fifth penned: “Seems strange that he’s text saying don’t contact him he will contact Tracy first… You might be on to something here as Tom is such a nasty character.”
Someone else added: “yup don’t think Nate sent that message,” as a seventh viewer mused: “Nate's character wasn't the most impactful but what a sh**e exit! I'm hoping Tom or John's killed him and texting Tracy.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
