Fast becoming one of Soapland's most sinister serial killers, Lachlan has a scary edge on some of the others as not even his own family is immune from his spree. We knew it was only ever a matter of time until Lachlan strikes again, and sure enough, he has some very evil plans for a number of characters over the coming episodes. With it looking like he's about to add to his killer count, here's a round-up of the ones in the most danger:
She miraculously escaped the car crash that killed her dad and sister, but we already know that Rebecca isn't safe when it comes to Lachlan's murderous behaviour. Despite being unable to end her life in hospital, Lachlan could be about to get rid of his aunt once and for all when she confronts him over his murder plan next week.
Having become caught in the crossfire of her nephew's revenge on Liv and Robert, Rebecca sparks a brand new problem for Lachlan when she demands to know what's going on. Shortly after their confrontation, Lachlan is seen armed with a bloody spanner, and someone in the boot of his car – suggesting that he may have done the unthinkable. And given that Rebecca is missing by the end of the week, it's definitely not looking good. Are we about to see a Bex-it?
Weighing in on this theory, Thomas Atkinson – who plays Lachlan – said: "Lachlan wants to think if it came to it, he could kill Rebecca, but I believe he'd struggle to do it", said Thomas Atkinson, who plays Lachlan. "Everything for him is about family at this point – Rebecca is one of the last of his family he has left, he wouldn't want to kill her…"
2. Liv Flaherty
Liv is currently looking like the most likely possibility, after Lachlan becomes convinced that the youngster is responsible for the threatening texts he's been receiving lately.
Sadly, it doesn't actually matter whether Liv is the culprit or not as Lachlan will decide that she's a problem he could do without regardless. Wanting her out of the picture, Lachlan breaks into Mill Cottage, sabotages the carbon monoxide detector and then sneakily causes a leak.
To make matters worse, Lachlan later has a violent confrontation with a disorientated Liv at the house, which results in her falling and banging her head. Does this mean Liv is the unlucky character Lachlan is bundling into his car at the end of the week?
3. Robert Sugden
There's never been much love loss between these two, so it may not come as much of a surprise that Lachlan is about to jump at a chance to get Robert out of his life for good. After putting his dark plans into action at Mill Cottage, Lachlan is grimly pleased that his tampering will have an impact on Robert as well.
When he sees that Robert and Liv are both unconscious, Lachlan happily leaves them both for dead – satisfied that he's killed two bees with one stone. Is this the end for Robert? With whispers of an impending Robron wedding, we doubt it on this occasion, but who is to say Lachlan won't come back for more afterwards?
4. Belle Dingle
There's no denying that Lachan worships the ground Belle walks on, but there's a very fine line between love and hate where this kid is concerned.
No stranger to killing those he's closed to, we've already seen Lachlan bump off his mum, granddad and best friend – three of the people who loved him the most. Therefore, Belle shouldn't be sitting too comfortably either and she might want to think twice about double crossing her frightening fella.
Thomas has insisted that his alter ego would never dream of hurting his beloved Belle, but we're no so convinced...
5. Fake Uncle Terry
Lachlan was given another potential enemy to worry about when it became clear Gerry Roberts's fake uncle Terry knew all about his heinous crimes. By the end of this week, Terry is the latest character Lachlan wants to put six feet under and he's chasing him with an all-too-familiar murderous look in his eyes.
Already rattled that the newcomer knows too much, Lachlan is all kinds of livid when Doug reveals that Terry is known to the police for tricking mourners at funerals. Sure enough, Lachlan later catches the conman in the act; hunting for grief-stricken individuals at a funeral service – and subsequently decides it's time someone taught him a lesson.
Fans will have to wait and see if Terry is about to be added onto Lachlan's victim list, but it's not looking too promising for him, is it?
He'd managed to escape last month, but Freddy might not want to be counting his lucky chickens just yet. Freddy looked set to meet the same grisly fate as poor Gerry when Lachlan prepared to murder him in a car park– only narrowly surviving because the teenager had a change of heart at the eleventh hour.
Lachlan was furious with Freddy for offering Belle a job in London, but ultimately decided against adding to his killer count after gaining a delayed conscience (it's just a shame the same didn't apply when it came to his family and best friend!).
So, Freddy is alive, well and safely away from Lachlan's wandering killer eye for the time being, but could he be in danger if he tries to prize Belle back to his company again?
7. Priya Sharma
And that leaves us on to our penultimate potential victim – Priya Sharma. While Lachlan resisted his dark urge to kill Freddy, Priya's fate may have inadvertently been sealed at the same. Having reluctantly agreed to give a drunk Priya a lift home, Lachlan was unaware that Priya wasn't actually snoozing off the booze when he prepare to bump off Freddy forever.
Having escaped from Lachlan's car pretty sharpish, Priya was then plagued by frustrating gaps in her memory over what happened the following day. Wrongly concluding that Lachlan tried to abuse her, Priya and her family have been keeping a close eye on him ever since. But could Priya find herself in danger if she does ever remember what really happened? Or could Lachlan decide it's easier to get her out of the way anyway?
8. Ross Barton
Granted, Lachlan probably has bigger problems on his hands than Ross right now, but we're pretty worried about the Barton favourite all the same. When Rebecca goes missing after their passionate encounter, Ross could find himself at the centre of a Lachlan drama if he decides to get to the bottom of what's happened to her.
Let's also not forget that Ross's days in the village are numbered anyway, given that Michael Parr is due to bow out of the role. Ross's exit departure has been described as "intriguing", so is he going to meet a fatal end at the ends of the terrifying teen?
