Emmerdale legend Adam Thomas says 'I'd like to go back' when asked about a possible return

An Emmerdale legend is eyeing a return to the ITV soap.

Adam Thomas, 35, is known to millions of Emmerdale fans as Adam Barton. In an interview with the Metro, Adam has discussed whether we’ll see him back in Emmerdale.

Adam, who is also known for playing Donte Charles in Waterloo Road, left Emmerdale in 2018. Adam joked: “I can’t remember where he (his Emmerdale character) went to. I think he went to France? He was on the run.”

Adam added: “It was such a big part of my life and being able to work with some of my close friends who I’m still in touch with today, that was such a fun job. I’m lucky that I get to do this for a living.

“I’d like to go back one day, it’ll always hold a special place in my heart.”

Elsewhere, ITV has announced that Adam and brother Ryan Thomas, 39, who previously appeared in Coronation Street, will host a new game show called 99 To Beat.

In their first presenting role together, Adam and Ryan will preside over all of the action, offering playful commentary while guiding the 100 contestants through the experience as they go head-to-head in a range of simple, quirky and often hilarious games.

In a statement, Adam and Ryan Thomas said: “It’s new, it’s fresh, it’s fun and we can’t wait for people to see it! It really is the ultimate family show, and so we couldn’t be more excited to be hosting it together, as a family. It’s a dream come true for us. We can already imagine people at home playing these games with their families as it’s fun, silly, competitive and heartfelt.”
