Emmerdale's Dan Spencer doesn't react well tonight (August 23) as Kerry Wyatt shares the worrying news about his older brother Daz.

Daz has made a surprise return to our screens this week, but he's a far cry from the cocky and happy-go-lucky guy that Emmerdale fans may remember.

When Kerry (Laura Norton) went out shopping and stumbled across Daz by chance on Monday, she was shocked to realise that he was homeless and clearly struggling.

In tonight's visit to the Dales, Kerry plucks up the courage to speak to her partner Dan (Liam Fox) about the sad situation – telling him that she's seen Daz out in town.

Kerry expects Dan to be concerned when she explains that Daz seems to be sleeping rough, but he fails to muster up any real reaction at all. Harsh!

Still hurt after the way Daz treated him last time he was in the village, Dan is struggling to show much sympathy for his sibling – but will he change his mind when Kerry continues to worry?

Mark Jordon, who plays Daz, has already warned that there's a long journey ahead before the Spencer brothers can ever get back on track.

Over the next fortnight, we'll see Kerry come face-to-face with Daz and try to help him, but she's clearly playing with fire by doing so behind Dan's back.

The last time Daz was in the village, he arranged a robbery at David Metcalfe's shop and also made a move on Kerry on the eve of her wedding to Dan. Which, to be fair, was quite a lot of bad behaviour considering he was only in the village for a few weeks!

But Mark recently revealed: "There's definite cause for redemption, because the journey that Daz has taken has left him wanting to rectify many of the problems from his past. The main priority is to reconnect with Dan.

"One of the incentives to get off the streets and have a fresh start is to prove to Dan that they can have a relationship. Daz is driven by this need to prove to Dan that he's going to be a better man."

Emmerdale airs tonight at 7pm on ITV.
