Emmerdale appears to be lining up a surprise romance for Rhona Goskirk and Pete Barton as they prepare to go on a date next week.
Rhona (Zoe Henry) was dealt a devastating blow last year when she realised that her estranged husband Paddy Kirk had moved on with Chas Dingle.
Paddy's new romance has forced Rhona to her to keep her rekindled feelings for him to herself, but she'll be given another reminder of what she's missing out on when she attends a village auction in upcoming scenes.
With Paddy up for grabs at the fundraiser, Rhona is hoping to bid for a date with him – only to be irked when Chas gets in there first.
Rhona's jealousy only intensifies as she watches Chas and Paddy looking happy together, prompting her to bid on Pete in the hope that it'll mask her true feelings.
After Rhona wins a date with Pete, the pair make plans to go for a drink together – but is Pete's heart really in it? And more to the point, is Rhona's?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
