Emmerdale resolved a previously teased 'steamy affair' storyline in one of tonight's (October 31) flashback scenes.

Tonight the Dingle family were gathered together to answer Lydia's questions following the shock murder of Craig Reed. Earlier this week Craig, who had sexually assaulted Lydia, was found dead in the fields at Home Farm.

With every Dingle having a motive to kill Craig, Lydia gathered them at the Woolpack so they could all account for their whereabouts at the time of his murder.

First to give their alibis were Chas and Charity who were seen drinking at home while discussing the Craig situation in flashback scenes.

While Charity believed Craig should be punished however necessary, Chas told her it was Lydia's call and she needs justice not an avenging hero. Charity then resolved to tell Mack she still loves him, though Chas thought it was just the wine talking.

Another flashback revealed the tensions between Aaron and Vinny, who were both at the scrapyard at the time of Craig's death.

While Vinny held back from revealing Aaron's angry and violent actions towards him, viewers saw Aaron confront him over passing on information to Chas about his mental state.

Aaron then accused Vinny of profiting off Liv's death and demanded the money he made from the sale of Mill Cottage, or else.

In the Woolpack, Mandy tried to persuade Vinny to tell the whole truth about what Aaron did, even getting in Aaron's face and telling him no one wanted him there. Vinny then said that he had played a game of cards with Aaron in order to distract him and keep him away from Craig.

All eyes then turned to Caleb and Nate with a flashback showing Nate being confronted by Amit while out with Tracy as Caleb looked on.

Nate told Tracy that Caleb had asked him to come along when he confronted Amit who he believed had targeted Nicky in a homophobic attack.

After hearing Nate had done Caleb's bidding, Tracy went to confront him, with the pair getting in a heated argument. As tensions rose, things turned passionate leading to a steamy kiss between them.

We then saw Tracy go home to Nate, not telling him what happened with Caleb who had sent her a text, saying that their secret is safe with him.

Earlier this month, Emmerdale's producer Laura Shaw teased that there would be an affair that rocked the village with serious consequences.

"We love an affair in soap, so we've got a very passionate, steamy affair coming up between two people, and one of them at the moment is seemingly very happily married," she revealed.

"The affair is going to have huge repercussions. It's going to affect a lot of our villagers. It's also going to ultimately lead to a new arrival joining the show, which I can't tell you about just yet because it won't be until next year, but we're very excited about it here. It's going to be explosive, and that new arrival is going to cause uproar in the village."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
