Yahoo News Emmerdale return plot sees Chas reunite with Paddy
Emmerdale's Chas Dingle makes a play for Paddy Kirk when she returns to the village next week.
Chas has been absent from our screens since March, when she headed off to Ireland to support Liv Flaherty's mum Sandra after she'd suffered an accident.
In real life, Lucy Pargeter – who plays Chas – took maternity leave to welcome the arrival of her twin daughters Missy Mabel and Betsey Maggie.
Next week, the build-up to Chas's comeback sees trouble brew for Paddy (Dominic Brunt) when he has an argument with his best mate Marlon Dingle and is told to pack his bags.
Despite all the rowing, Paddy and Marlon (Mark Charnock) are both secretly disappointed that he's leaving so soon – which forces little April to step in and sort things out between the bickering friends.
The pair's bromance gets back on track when Paddy and Marlon both apologise to each other and agree to not let women come between them again – but Chas interrupts when she suddenly returns and throws herself at Paddy.
Chas and Paddy find themselves all loved-up after spending the night together, but when Paddy learns that she had another lover in Ireland, will he want to keep seeing her?
Teasing Paddy's future, Emmerdale's producer Iain MacLeod recently told TV Times: "At the point where Chas returns, it seems that Rhona is not an option.
"So the story then becomes: 'How do you pursue a new relationship when the woman you thought you'd spend the rest of your life with lives up the road and runs a business with you?'
"You'll just have to wait and see how this love story involving these three characters pans out."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
