Emmerdale return 'sealed' for favourite in Anthony Fox twist - and Ruby will be stunned
An Emmerdale favourite could be set to make an unexpected return in a huge Anthony Fox twist, according to soap fans.
Anthony (Nicholas Day) made his debut on the soap last year, rocking up as the estranged father of Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly). As Anthony settled into the village, Ruby spiralled - clearly hiding something about her dad.
It was later revealed that Anthony sexually abused Ruby when she was 14. What’s more, it was also confirmed that Anthony is the real father of Ruby’s daughter Steph’s (Georgia Jay) - and not Caleb Miligan (William Ash).
After Anthony’s sick crimes were exposed last week, several villagers were out to get him - with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) brutally attacking Anthony in the local depot, triggered by his own abuse as a youngster.

Fearing Anthony was dead, Aaron confided in John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) - who quickly intervened to help Aaron. The pair headed back to the depot - where John checked Anthony’s pulse and revealed to Aaron he was dead.
John then got rid of Anthony’s body - meanwhile, Aaron has spiralled, overcome with emotion thinking he had murdered someone. However, the truth was eventually revealed that it was Ruby who struck the final blow.
However, amid all the Fox-Miligan drama going down in the village at the moment, fans can’t help but point out how Caleb and Ruby’s other child Nicky (Lewis Cope) should be there.
Nicky made his debut in 2022. He ended up leaving in 2024 though, with boyfriend Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana). But now, viewers reckon Nicky could be making a shock return, following the death of his grandfather Anthony.
On a Reddit thread, one person wrote: “I would love to have nicky back and see how he and Stephanie would get on with each other. Does anyone agree with me.”
Someone else chimed in: “I’m so desperate for him back.” A third also penned: “He was a good character.” Meanwhile on X, another person said: “I can't warm to Steph. She's really awful to her mother and treats her own mother like a child. Can she just leave, and we get Nicky back instead.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
