Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has shared a first look at some sinister new scenes, revealing Belle King's ongoing struggle with her husband Tom's increasingly controlling and abusive behaviour.

Recent months have seen Tom cruelly insult, physically shove and humiliate Belle in a dark new storyline that will continue to explore how abusive partners can vicitimise their spouses.

In upcoming scenes, Tom's controlling behaviour will escalate as he begins to use a tracking app on his phone so he can keep Belle under constant surveillance.

Tom isn't happy about Belle's new job at Take A Vow and is unwilling to let her live her life unsupervised, leading him to download the app so he can track her whereabouts at all times.

However, it seems this still isn't good enough for Tom, who brings home a rescue puppy later in the week as a 'surprise' for Belle.

Belle makes it very clear that she doesn't want to give up her job to look after the puppy, but will Tom emotionally blackmail her to convince her otherwise?

Recently discussing her character's storyline, Belle actress Eden Taylor-Draper said: "Tom always has a reason for his behaviour. He'll do something horrific and instantly turn it on her. So then Belle's like, 'I'm so sorry, it's my fault.'

"She feels like she is a burden to him, and she has long suffered with mental-health issues, so that is a way he can make her feel extra vulnerable."

She went on to share how all the charities the soap has worked with have shared how tech control is increasing, before revealing that there will be "other ways" Tom uses technology to monitor Belle in addition to the tracker.
