It’s all your Emmerdale spoilers for 1-5 August 2022.
Matty’s revenge plan backfires
Drug dealer Callum resurfaces at Take a Vow with a job offer for Leyla, who’s still under pressure financially. What Callum wants is for Leyla to store a stash for him on the premises in exchange for cash. But the bag of drugs turns out to be much larger than Leyla was expecting.
When Suzy later clocks Callum in the village, she asks him if Leyla is scoring. But little does she realise that Matty is watching on from afar, convinced that he’s witnessing a drug deal. Determined to see Suzy face justice for her actions, Matty then secretly searches the Take a Vow office, locates the holdall of drugs and heads off with it. His next move? To plant the holdall in Suzy’s car.

But as Rhona’s hen party gets underway at the Hide, Matty is bristling at the sight of Suzy attending the event. And following a confrontation between the two of them, Suzy realises she’s not welcome and leaves – cue Matty making a call to the police and reporting the drugs in her car.
Leyla, meanwhile, is having to confess to Callum that the drugs have vanished. And he tells her that he won’t be responsible for his actions if they’re not returned by the end of the day.
Faith’s risky plan
Faith embroils Nate in her plan to retrieve something that belongs to her from her stepdaughter’s home. But after turning up at the property, the owner Angus soon rumbles who Faith is and orders her to leave.
But the Dingle matriarch isn’t someone who’ll be beaten so easily. And, the next day, she returns in a disguise and bamboozles Angus by claiming to be a photographer for an estate agent. Cain and Nate can’t believe their eyes when Faith then gains entry before dashing out with a stolen bag in her possession.
Later on, Cain and Chas are seen reminiscing about their childhood as they search through Faith’s box of memories that she’s stolen, the group falling about in laughter. Faith can’t help but be satisfied with her actions, but will the long arm of the law end up reaching out for her?
The fight for Clemmie
Dawn contacts social services after losing Clemmie and learns that Alex is the child’s father – all of which means that he was seeing Beth behind Dawn’s back.
Knowing that she’ll now need Alex’s consent in order to get custody of Clemmie, Dawn takes Billy along to the prison to visit the man himself. Initially, Alex refuses outright to let the two of them foster Clemmie. But when Billy blasts Alex about the decision, he changes his mind.
Dawn is relieved but can’t help but worry about trusting Alex, especially after he flashes her a smug smile…
Lydia buckles under the pressure
As we suspected it might, the pressure of planning Kim’s wedding is set to become too much for an overwhelmed Lydia.
And Leyla can’t help but feel triumphant when Will asks her to pick up the pieces before it’s too late…
Mary’s mistake
Finally, Mary opens up about her sexuality to Vanessa, but mistakes her kind words for something else and ends up leaning in for a kiss.
And Rhona’s later left heartbroken when her mum opens up to her about what’s been going on.
