Emmerdale star Adam Thomas is expecting his second child with his wife Caroline Daly.
The couple, who tied the knot earlier this year, are already parents to a son, Teddy, and have announced that they will be welcoming a new addition to the family next year.
The pair revealed that they plan to learn the gender of their new child on Christmas Day, having conceived on their wedding night.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Caroline said: "I'd been feeling really tired and then suddenly it hit me, that was exactly how I felt when I was pregnant with Teddy.
"My mum went out and got a test and I left Adam downstairs while I took it. After I realised it was positive, I gave it to Teddy and told him to give it to Adam. I downloaded a pregnancy app and worked out that we got pregnant on our wedding day."
Adam added: "We always wanted another baby but we weren't planning for it to happen so soon after getting married.
"It took me totally by surprise. I have to say, I lost my head a bit over it. I immediately cracked open the gin. I've not cried throughout the pregnancy but if I find out we're having a girl, I will probably cry."
Adam – who is known for his role as Adam Barton – is due to bow out of Emmerdale, with his departure to air on screen early next year.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
