Emmerdale star calls on ITV bosses to introduce 'evil' relative - on one condition
Emmerdale star Michael Parr has revealed a particular soap character that he would like to be brought to life on the ITV soap.
The 38-year-old actor recently reprised his role as Ross Barton on the show following a six absence. In an unexpected twist during an unlicensed boxing match, Ross was unveiled as Billy Fletcher's, played by Jay Kontzle, opponent. His reappearance in the village is set to rekindle old tensions and spark new rivalries.
Speaking to Leicestershire Live, Michael revealed the Barton family are "thin on the ground" and how he would love Nana Barton to be introduced, who has been mentioned but never seen on-screen.

Michael explained: "There was this character, a mythological Barton character called Nana Barton.
"I would love it, this is not happening, but if Sue Johnston reads this please come to Emmerdale because it would be my dream to work with you after watching you for so many years on Brookside and The Royle Family."
He added: "I think she's probably busy getting offers coming in left right and centre but if I could cast anybody to play a character that hasn't been in the show yet then evil Nana Barton. Maybe she is loving."
Ross' mother Emma (Gillian Kearney) killed his father James (Bill Ward) back in 2016. Emma met her end in 2017 after accidentally causing the death of her son and Ross' brother, Finn (Joe Gill).
She was found at the Hotten Viaduct, where it was later disclosed that Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) had pushed her to her demise with her son and Ross' half-brother, Adam Barton (Adam Thomas), going on the run after taking the blame.
Ross' only surviving and available immediate relative is Pete Barton, played by Anthony Quinlan, who left the village back in 2020 to be with brother Ross in Liverpool.
Speaking about his on-screen brother, Michael added he would love to see Anthony reprise his role on the soap as Pete.
He said: "I'd love Quinny back, yeah. Because he had done Hollyoaks and stuff before, he's not that much older than me, but he felt older when we got here because he had walked the walk with being on TV.
"There were so many things we didn't know what to do, and didn't know how to handle, and Quinny is a lovely, soft person to be around. So I would like it."
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
