In conversation with The Daily Star, Danny reflected: "It's been 11 years now and there really is nothing like being called upstairs about a big storyline. I'm still buzzing about what's coming up. I'm happy to stay as long as they'll have me."

Discussing his and Ryan's groundbreaking storyline, the actor noted: "I really have been so lucky over the years. Even now when I look back at all the coming out stuff, what we did with that storyline. It was massive. We changed opinion and got people talking.

"I remember being invited to the Gay Times Awards, to present one of the awards, and Welsh rugby player Gareth Thomas came up to thank me".

Keep up the good work Danny.

Emmerdale currently airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
