Emmerdale star Michael Parr has hinted that Ross Barton and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) could grow closer.

Appearing on This Morning today (April 16), the actor explained that the pair will find themselves bonding as Ross struggles to deal with his addiction to painkillers.

Rhona – who, of course, is in a relationship with Ross's brother Pete – has her own history of painkiller abuse, and has been trying to help him.

"She's helping him because she's been through it," Michael told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. "And it's soapload, obviously. So you might be able to predict what is coming or is not going to happen, or how it's going to play out.

"She's kind of on his side at the minute because she realises he's been through a lot. She's trying to do what's best and obviously they're spending a lot of time with each other, and they have a bond because they've been through the same thing.

"It's got disaster written all over it."

Michael also teased that his most difficult scenes are still to come, as he has yet to find out that Debbie was inadvertently responsible for the acid attack.

"He's still got the biggest to come, maybe," he said. "Maybe if you told him straight away that she's responsible [he would cope], but she's spun a web of lies now.

"It's hard for her to be honest. But it's going to come out eventually, and I can't imagine it's going to be good. But we haven't got there yet."

Emmerdale airs on ITV.
