Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has teased that Mackenzie Boyd will face a backlash from the Dingle family.
Mackenzie had been harbouring a dark secret for a while; he cheated on wife Charity with Chloe Harris, and it was subsequently revealed that he was the father of baby Reuben.
Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle on the ITV soap, spoke about the developments to Inside Soap, hinting that the whole family will rally behind Charity.
"Mandy's a Dingle, so obviously she's going to take Charity's side," she said. "Also, in terms of Mandy's relationship with Mack, he did her over with the money, and he set up Vinny with the gambling – so it's a case of third strike and you're out.
"Whenever me and [Mackenzie actor] Lawrence [Robb] work together, we have a ball," she added. "It's good for characters like that – they love having scenes with Mandy because they know it's going to be a fun day."
Robb, who debuted as Mackenzie in 2020, also spoke about the dramatic storyline, revealing that his character's world would come "crashing down".
"Later on, there's a big 17 or 18-page scene with Charity and Mack together – and that was a learning experience for us all. Hopefully we've done it justice," he said. "There is a scene in the week after where Mack mentions that it kind of is a relief, but at that point, his world is crashing down.
"We all know that it will come to a point where as soon as Charity does find out, obviously all of the Dingles will too," he teased. "There's a scene where all the Dingles are just looking at Mackenzie with utter disgust."
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
