Emmerdale actor Mark Jordon has denied that he attacked a 68-year-old man during a fight in a pub in Oldham in July.

Appearing at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester yesterday, the 53-year-old actor pleaded not guilty to common assault.

A trial has been scheduled for July, 2019.

Jordon, who plays Daz Spencer in the ITV soap, is alleged to have assaulted pensioner Andy Potts during an incident last summer.

Mr Potts suffered facial injuries during an altercation on July 1, which occurred at The Farrar’s Arms in Oldham following the Russia versus Spain match in the World Cup.

He also suffered lacerations to his thumb and hand and was admitted to hospital with his injuries.

Jordon pleaded not guilty to early charges of GBH at Tameside Magistrates Court in November.

He’s been a member of the Emmerdale cast since 2014, and has also starred in the ITV drama Heartbeat.

Jordon was accompanied to court by his partner Laura Norton, who also stars in Emmerdale.
