Yahoo News Emmerdale star opens up over having "toxic" breast implants removed
Emmerdale star Lucy Parteger has talked about having her breast implants removed after they caused her problems with her health.
The actress, known for playing Chas Dingle on the ITV soap, is featured in the latest episode of Channel 4's Dispatches, titled Britain's Breast Implant Scandal.
Talking about the "toxic bags" she has had for over a decade, the star said: "I forgot what it was like to have a full lung of air. It's amazing. I can breathe.
"Surgery went absolutely fine. They are out. I'm as flat as a pancake. I look awful but I feel good. When I woke up in recovery, the first thing I did was panic because I could breathe.
"I could take in a massive breath and I thought they were trying to give me too much oxygen – I panicked."
Despite her initial panic, she is very relieved to have had the operation, stating: "I know that everything is going to be much better… Hopefully my joint problems, my anxiety, the rashes on my chest and the pain I get in my chest and armpits will be gone."
Dispatches airs on Channel 4 at 8pm.
