Emmerdale star shares future plans after quitting Bernice role
Emmerdale star Samantha Giles has shared her future career plans ahead of her exit from the soap.
Last month, the Bernice Blackstock actress confirmed that she would be leaving the Dales very soon, with her final scenes set to air next week.
Speaking about what's next for her job wise, Giles revealed that she is hoping to work on a "variety" of projects, including TV, theatre and books.
"I'd love just to be working on a variety of things really, theatre, TV, my books," she said. "I'm someone who needs to be challenged and I love being busy, so fingers crossed the universe will send me stuff and send me places where I need to be."

Giles will next be seen on stage, playing the role of the wicked Stepmother in Cinderella at Bradford's Alhambra Theatre – something which she "can't wait" to get stuck into.
"I've always wanted to work at that theatre, it is beautiful! It will be a new challenge as I've never done panto before," she said of the upcoming role.
The actress went on to add that she'd love for one of her books to be turned into a TV series, revealing that she's already adapted one of her books into an eight-part show.
"My dream though would be to have one of my books made into a TV series as I have written myself parts in everything, so to be playing a character I have created would be amazing," she said.

"I have just adapted my first Rosemary book into an 8 part TV series, and written the first episode and series synopsis, so you never know."
Giles' exit from the ITV soap will see her character Bernice attempt to flee the village in order to avoid facing punishment for committing fraud.
Speaking about her exit, the actress added: "I'm sad to be leaving colleagues and I loved getting my hair and make-up done every day, I shall miss that!"
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
