Yahoo News Emmerdale star Sophie Powles on surprise Holly Barton return

Emmerdale star Sophie Powles has spoken about her unexpected return to the show.
The former cast member reprised her role as Holly Barton in Wednesday's special episode (November 20), appearing in a dream sequence.
As Moira underwent surgery to remove her brain tumour, viewers were given an insight into what she was dreaming about while on the operating table.
Moira enjoyed a surprise reunion with her late daughter at Butler's Farm – the first time the character has appeared since dying from a drug overdose in 2016.

Speaking about her return, Sophie commented: "I was really happy to come back. Being a part of Emmerdale was just the best experience.
"I genuinely made friends for life in the cast and crew, learnt so much and have the best memories. So I was really grateful to come back and work with friends again on a show I love so much."
She added: "It's a really powerful episode and Nats [Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira] and I both cried when we read the scenes. They are really beautifully written.
"It was so lovely to come back for the day. To be honest, it felt like I had never left. It was just a great day, doing what I love with people I love."

Asked how easy it was to step back into the role of Holly, Sophie replied: "Natalie and I Facetimed the night before to run everything and check we were on the same page.
"The minute I was back on sat with Natalie also in character, I just slipped straight back into character. Hair, make-up and costume did an amazing job of helping me feel like Holly again."
Sophie originally played the role of Holly between 2009 and 2012. She returned in 2016, with her stint culminating in Holly's tragic death following a drugs relapse.
Discussing life after the soap, Sophie added: "Since leaving the show I have been busy. I've travelled with my boyfriend Mark and friends. I've had amazing opportunities assisting and producing for him on various film projects.

"I've done a lot of theatre, voice over work and written poems and I sell prints with my brilliant friend Emily at The Happy Newspaper.
"The main thing is becoming a mum to two incredible little girls. It's without a doubt the most life-changing and the best thing that has ever happened to me.
"I still keep in touch with a lot of the Emmerdale cast, who are a massive part of my family's life.
"I really do miss the show and working with friends. As an actress, constant work is really rare. I miss just knowing I would be doing what I love every week."
