Emmerdale stars revisit their forgotten past working together on iconic TV drama

Two Emmerdale stars have opened up on their past working together away from the ITV soap.

Some may have forgotten that Moira star Natalie J Robb and Beth Cordingly, who plays Ruby, both appeared in The Bill. Natale, 49, appeared between 2024 and 2005, while Beth, 47, was in the police drama between 2002 and 2004.

The pair will soon be seen in a major Emmerdale stunt, in the shape of a barn fire, leaving the lives of both their characters at risk. It follows a confrontation between Moria and Ruby which Emmerdale viewers will soon see play out.

Speaking to assembled media during a virtual press conference, the acting stars opened up about how things have changed working together now compared to their time on The Bill 20-years back.

Natalie explained: “We crossed over on The Bill. We did certain takes together but we weren’t as close on that, or we didn’t get to know each other on that, shall I say, because the cast was so vast on The Bill. We’d dip in with people everyday.

“We were always very pleasant to each other. Just as well now. She’s like my best buddy now which is lovely.”

While Beth added: “It is brilliant working with Nat. I’m really hoping, if we survive (the pair’s characters), that we get more stuff together.”

We’ll have to wait and see what the fates of Emmerdale villagers Moira and Ruby will be.
