Next week on Emmerdale: Who dies in stunt week? Liv confronts Paul, plus Jimmy loses control (spoilers)
Whose time in Emmerdale is set to come to a sudden end? There are three hospital beds occupied by village regulars and at least one patient won’t be recovering.
Read on for all the spoilers for the week of 29th March to 2nd April as we try to work out who snuffs it:
Flashforward fatality
This is going to be one of those occasions when Emmerdale plays with time and keeps giving us a glimpse of an impending tragedy. But it's only on Friday that we’ll discover which character is being killed off. It’s the kind of thing the show has done before, most recently with the untimely demise of Graham Foster, so it’s not exactly a revolutionary move. But it should at least ensure that things remain interesting in what feels like a high-stakes week.

The initial set-up will feature a 999 call being made, before we leap ahead to be shown three hospital beds. As events unfold, viewers will get hints as to who’s receiving treatment. And then, ultimately, a doctor records a time of death for at least one of the patients…
Wedding day disaster?
So, as you’ve probably predicted, Paul and Mandy’s wedding week won’t go to plan. In the run-up to the big day Aaron makes the mistake of offering up the gift of a kidnapped Connor, who he believes is responsible for Vinny’s beating.

But Paul can’t have his cohort blabbing, so ensures that Connor escapes.
The trouble is that Liv later crosses paths with Connor and their conversation results in the pieces of the puzzle falling into place. She then grows determined to get Vinny to reveal the truth about Paul to Mandy before it’s too late. But, at that moment in time, Vinny is enduring yet another brutal beating.
As events come to a head in the wedding barn and Liv confronts wicked abuser Paul, will she inadvertently put herself in danger?
Jimmy in peril
The other potential casualty is Jimmy, who’s at his wits’ end when he discovers that Juliette has sabotaged another business opportunity. When he then finds out while sitting at the wheel of one of his haulage trucks that Nicola has got herself into trouble with the PI who’s been spying on them and also that Juliette is asking to take the kids out, Jimmy flips.
Racing back to the village, he panics when the glare of the sun ends up blinding him and loses control of the vehicle, bracing himself for a collision…
So, who’s dead?
It may seem like a macabre wager, but who do you think has met their maker? Which familiar face won’t be making it past Friday? I, personally, would be very surprised to see Jimmy end up six feet under. He’s currently one of the last surviving Kings and it seems a drastic move to further deplete that particular family all for the sake of a stunt.
Vinny, too, would be an unpopular choice. For starters, it would send out the queasy message that victims of abuse are destined to die. But, also, having introduced him only recently as new blood in the Dingle dynasty, what purpose would be served by writing him out? Similarly, Liv must be protected at all costs – she’s a classic character in the making and in need of more screen time rather than less.
No, my money’s on Paul having the plug pulled on him. Villains always have a shelf life and I feel that fans are desperate to see him punished. The question, though, is: if the writers have picked Paul, will anyone except Mandy be left grieving?
