Nate Robinson's abrupt exit from the village has left viewers shocked, but some Emmerdale fans are convinced he never made it to his new job in Shetland.

The farmer, played by Jurell Carter in the ITV soap, was last seen more than a week ago after he revealed his plans to move to Shetland.

He was delighted when his estranged wife Tracy (Amy Walsh) agreed to reconcile their relationship and have a fresh start on the Scottish island.

But Nate was viciously beaten by dad Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) after he thought his son was having another affair with his wife Moira (Natalie Robb).

After being beaten, a badly injured Nate went to the farm to confront Moira but was stopped by newcomer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) who made him see sense.

Meanwhile, a huge blaze broke out in one of Moira's barns leaving several injured after it exploded.

Nate said he would leave the village behind and go to his new job in Shetland alone.

Cain was devastated to learn that Moira's pass at Nate was down to her having a brain tumour and tried to contact his son. But no one has spoken to Nate since he left.

Emmerdale fans have been left fearing for Nate's safety as he has failed to check in with anybody to let them know he arrived at his new job in Shetland safely.

Taking to X, one viewer pointed out: "Something going on with Nate. Nobody can get hold of him but text messages. He seems kidnapped. #Emmerdale."

A second echoed: "So no one finds it strange that Nate hasn't contacted anyone!?", while a third chimed in: "Still waiting to find out where Nate is…."

"I don’t know what’s happened, but Nate’s exit was very strange, John is acting way too shifty and Moira could have done ANYTHING in the state she was in. Even shot her stepson…", added one fan.

"Is Nate really still alive or is he dead somewhere and someone has got his phone.....", asked another.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour long episode every Thursday
