Emmerdale's Charity Dingle struggles next week as she remains under strict instruction to keep quiet about Vanessa Woodfield's diagnosis.

Charity (Emma Atkins) had her world turned upside-down this week as Vanessa confided in her about how she has bowel cancer.

Scenes airing next week see Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) remain adamant that it's not the right time to share the news any further.

Even Vanessa's sister Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) is currently in the dark about what she's going through.

Charity thinks that Vanessa should consider being more open with everyone, including their young sons Moses and Johnny.

The Woolpack landlady points out that it's only a matter of time before everyone finds out anyway, with Vanessa due to have surgery and potentially chemotherapy too.

Despite this, Vanessa can't be talked around and urges Charity to stick to her promise not to tell anyone. Vanessa wants normality for as long as possible, but with Charity also needing support, it's a difficult situation.
