Emmerdale's Charley Webb pays tribute to Matthew Wolfenden on their wedding anniversary

Emmerdale's Charley Webb has paid tribute to her husband Matthew Wolfenden on the fourth anniversary of their wedding.

The Debbie Dingle actress shared a photo of the two together, alongside a caption that reads: "Happy 4 years married. This is what our anniversary looks like. 15 years together, 3 children later.

"I'm in my pyjamas ready to read my book in bed and @matthewwolfenden55 is watching a cooking programme. Happy Anniversary pal, you wouldn't have it any other way."

David Metcalfe actor Matthew also posted a picture of the couple, except his wasn't a current selfie, but from 2007 (and what a 2007 picture it is)...

"This photo was taken 15 years ago," he wrote. "We had just 'got together'… now we've been married 4 years and have 3 amazing, beautiful (always annoying) boys running around the house and driving us mad!

"I knew as we had this photo taken that we'd be together forever. I'd found my soulmate. Love you pal. @miss_charleywebb . Happy anniversary. X"

Matthew and Emmerdale co-star Isabel Hodgins were recently absent from filming for a few weeks amid reports of a race row on set, in which a mixed-race actress complained that her accent was allegedly mimicked on set.

ITV accepted the pair's explanation and did not take formal action against them, airing their characters' returns last month.

During Matthew's absence from the show, it was speculated that Charley had quit her role. While ITV didn't necessarily confirm or deny those rumours, a spokesperson did say: "There are no current plans for Debbie Dingle to return."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
