Emmerdale's Marshall has heartbreaking reunion with evil father Colin

Marshall has had a heartbreaking reunion with his evil father Colin in Emmerdale.

Thursday's episode (April 27) featured alarming scenes where Laurel found Marshall having passed out from drinking too much alcohol with Cathy Hope.

As an unconscious Marshall was loaded into an ambulance, Jai Sharma blamed Cathy for swiping the bottle of alcohol when Brenda Walker walked over to check everything was okay.

Waiting at the hospital, Jai tried to convince Laurel that it was the right thing to do to tell Marshall's father Colin about what's been going on. Furious Colin turned up to accuse Laurel and Jai of neglecting his son, warning them that he'd hold them responsible if Marshall had brain damage.

"It's on both of us," Laurel insisted. "I let him down, but so did you."

Back at home, Rishi had to break the news to a terrified Arthur that Marshall had been rushed to the hospital with suspected alcohol poisoning.

At the hospital, Laurel tried to make peace with Colin by relaying to him how devastating the whole situation is for both of them.

The nurse arrived with the encouraging news that the brain scan came back clear and that meant Marshall should be back to normal within 24 hours.

"Don't you dare do that again," Colin told his son. "I thought I'd lost you."

Laurel and Jai agreed to give father and son some time alone together, though Arthur turned up to watch the heart-to-heart moment from the door.

Marshall had a glimmer of hope when Colin said he would no longer try to tell him how to live his life but showed his true colours again by insisting this incident was a message from God that he was on the wrong path.

Arthur intervened when Colin cruelly suggested Marshall wouldn't be able to join him and his mum in heaven, asking the homophobic father: "What kind of a dad are you?"

When Marshall asked his father to leave, Arthur stepped in to make sure Colin got away from his son. How will Marshall cope with his father's cruel judgment?
