This story discusses topics including rape and sexual assault.
Emmerdale's Lydia Dingle insists on time apart from her husband Sam next week in the fallout from Craig Reed's death.
Lydia needs space to process the recent traumatic events, even after Sam finds himself in the clear with the police.
Next week, Sam faces further questioning from the police about his whereabouts when Craig died.

Cain Dingle once again takes matters into his own hands, hoping to convince Lydia to help Sam.
However, Cain catches up with Mandy instead. Their conversation helps him to realise that he has unfairly been putting pressure on Lydia at a very difficult time following her rape ordeal.
Later, Sam is released by the police and informs Lydia that he wasn't responsible for Craig's death – Kim Tate's horse was.
Cain then calls Kim, who's currently abroad, and informs her that the investigation into Craig's death played out exactly as they'd hoped thanks to their careful cover-up.

Lydia is adamant that life can't simply return to normal, still upset that Sam went against her wishes by beating up Craig on the day of his death. Although this wasn't the reason Craig died, Lydia sees it as part of the chain of events that led to his demise.
When Lydia announces plans to move out of the Dingle home, Will Taylor invites her to stay at Home Farm for a while.
Sam turns to Cain for support, expressing his fears that he has lost Lydia for good.
Sam's son Samson also steps in and tries to fix things, but Lydia sets clear boundaries as she needs time and space to process the past few weeks. Can she ever forgive Sam?
