Emmerdale's suspicious Caleb call explained as new story begins
Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale has explained Caleb Miligan's suspicious phone call as his new story begins.
The mystery came about in the wake of last week's barn fire, where Caleb's wife Ruby Fox-Miligan suffered serious injuries in a brawl with sister-in-law Moira Dingle.
Caleb had Ruby's mobile phone while she was hospitalised and was alarmed to see it receiving calls from an unlisted number, which he blocked.
Ruby was trying to speak to Caleb about her recurring nightmares since the fire in Monday's (September 16) episode but her husband's mobile began ringing nonstop, with calls from that same number.

While Ruby spent the day bonding with sister-in-law Chas over a bottle of wine, Caleb continued to be bothered by calls as he tried to check in on Cain and Moira.
Caleb turned up at the Woolpack next, where he angered Ruby by complaining she was making the barn fire all about herself while Moira was dealing with her diagnosis.
"I have been head-butted, held at gunpoint, shot at, knocked out, almost burned to death, all thanks to Moira, who I can't even be mad at because she is sick and it is heartbreaking what she is facing," Ruby pointed out. "I'm here. Your wife, your supposed everything, not sleeping, not coping!"
Caleb admitted he'd been distant because he didn't want to think about how close he came to losing Ruby. She ordered him to "step up" and be someone she could lean on.
Once Ruby walked away, Caleb took another mysterious phone call to demand the person stop calling him.
"I'll protect Ruby from you with everything I got," he warned. "You're a liar."
Caleb agreed to a secret meeting with the caller, though he warned he may put them "six feet under" himself.
Emmerdale cast member Will Ash recently offered some details on where this storyline is headed, as viewers will find out Ruby's estranged mum Helen is trying to get in contact because she's terminally ill.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
