An emu cooled off during a sweltering heat wave at the Adelaide Zoo in South Australia.
Footage taken by Instagram user @ameliak___ shows the Zoo’s emu, Cecil, beating the heat by submerging himself in a puddle of water, then shaking off the droplets in slow-motion.
“Cecil has the hot weather all down pat!” wrote @ameliak___. “Hopefully he can draw on his inner sponge over the next few days.”
Temperatures ranged above 30 degrees Celsius, or 86 degrees Fahrenheit, across many parts of the state, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. Credit: Amelia Kennett/Adelaide Zoo via Storyful
