Jonathan Entwistle is considering a second season of The End of the F***ing World.

In a recent interview, the series creator revealed that the team behind the E4/Netflix cult hit are exploring ways in which they could "continue the tone of the show".

He also said that if season two was to happen, it would "involve James and Alyssa somehow", suggesting that James (Alex Lawther) survived/wasn't hit by that gunshot that rounded off the first season.

How exciting...

"We're looking at what the people who loved the show are saying, to see how we can unpack that and how we could continue the tone of the show," Entwistle told Thrillist. "Because I think that is so crucial.

"For me, it's about James and Alyssa – and I think that's what people have connected with. I think a season two would have to involve James and Alyssa somehow. I just love the world of them out there on the road, doing something in a weird world.

"So for me, any story that we expand keeps them out there somewhere."

Entwistle has previously expressed his wishes for a second season and actor Lawther has also weighed in on the possibility, despite the show running out of comic book source material.

"It would give [writer Charlie Covell]... a chance to explore something from her imagination," he said. "I would be very excited about [that] because I think she's brilliant. So we'll see, basically."

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

The End of the F***ing World is available on 4 on Demand and Netflix.
