Stranger Things is only entering its second season, but the end is already in sight.
Netflix's quirky sci-fi hit will definitely be back just in time for Halloween in October and a third season is also in the works, but don't expect to be seeing Eleven graduating from monster college ten years from now.
In an interview with TVLine, Chief Hopper actor David Harbour revealed that writers the Duffer Brothers have already picked out when and how they want Stranger Things to end.
"We don't have an open-ended thing like The Walking Dead. There is an end to all these characters," the actor explained.
"We're going to give you something fun and then we're going to get out before we've worn out our welcome. We have a specific story that we're going to tell."
David Harbour has also warned fans to temper their expectations for season two, which follows up on the fate of both Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) after their trek to the Upside Down.
"In general, I think people will be pretty excited about it, but I do think some people will expect something and not get it," Harbour explained. "Some people may want the same thing [as last year], but we're not going to give them that.
"Literally, upon reading the first five minutes of the first script, I realized we opened up the world in an entirely new way. And these characters can go in an entirely new direction and have new arcs."
Stranger Things' first season was met with near-universal acclaim, and has been nominated for an impressive 18 Primetime Emmy Awards this year.
Stranger Things will return to Netflix worldwide on Friday, October 27. Watch a trailer below:
