'I ended up living in a compound with my sister - this is what life is like'
A woman has shared her unique living arrangement, residing on a 'compound' with her best friend, cousin, his wife, and her sister. After a 20-year marriage ended in divorce, Jen Hensley found herself renting near her cousin's family and quickly became friends with their neighbour.
Intrigued by the idea of purchasing the house behind her cousin's - despite it not being on the market - Jen decided to pen a letter to the owners, hoping for a stroke of luck. Speaking to Good Morning America, she revealed: "Within a week we were in closing [of the sale]. They actually had to move because of a family situation, which was crazy."
The group's good fortune didn't stop there. Two years later, when Jen's sister also went through a divorce and needed a new place to live, another neighbour mentioned they were selling their house due to a job opportunity.

Jen said: "We were able to get that house and my sister was able to move in, completing the square."
Now known as 'The Compound', the four friends have created their own supportive community, each taking on roles to help out on a daily basis, reports the Mirror.
Following her video displaying the homes that became an internet sensation, Jen had an emotional interview with GMA explaining its impact. She confided to them: "I think people are lonely, and that's the outpouring I've heard from people, is that they just wish they had it."
Highlighting that such living arrangements can vary, Jen added that cohabitation could mean sharing a house with friends or all residing in the same complex. Viewers of the compound tour video were moved to tears, with many expressing their desire for a similar setup.
Comments included: "This is what all healthy family/loved ones' goals should look like" and "I love this. I wish I had my people close to me."
Meanwhile, another viewer remarked: "That is fantastical. Everyone needs to know all families look different and that is perfect."
