New England Aquarium Releases 14 Sea Turtles After Rehabilitation

The New England Aquarium based in Boston, Massachusetts, took a trip to Jacksonville, Florida, on April 23 to release sea turtles into the ocean on the Florida coast.

In a video shared on the aquarium’s YouTube page, biologists can be seen carrying 14 sea turtles to the sand at Little Talbot Island State Park and letting them head to the Atlantic Ocean. According to a press release, the turtles were stranded on a beach in Cape Cod between November and December.

The turtles suffered from conditions such as pneumonia and emaciation and were rehabbed at a nearby sea turtle hospital. The aquarium saved ten loggerhead and four Kemp’s ridley sea turtles. Credit: New England Aquarium via Storyful
