England Euro 2024 squad in full as Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon and Kieran Trippier learn fate

Newcastle United duo Kieran Trippier and Anthony Gordon have been named in Gareth Southgate's 26-man squad for Euro 2024. The Magpies pair kept their place after the Three Lions chief whittled his 33-man provisional group down on Thursday.

Jack Grealish, Harry Maguire, James Maddison, Curtis Jones, Jarell Quansah, James Trafford and Jarrad Branthwaite have all been cut in recent days, with England set to take on Iceland in their final pre-tournament friendly at Wembley on Friday.

England's three goalkeepers for the showpiece are Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale and Dean Henderson after Newcastle's Nick Pope fell down the pecking order in recent months. Trippier is joined by Ezri Konsa Luke Shaw, John Stones and Kyle Walker, Marc Guehi, Lewis Dunk and Joe Gomez.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jude Bellingham, Conor Gallagher, Kobbie Mainoo, Declan Rice and Adam Wharton make up the midfield, while Gordon will link up with Jarrod Bowen, Eberechi Eze, Phil Foden, Anthony Gordon , Harry Kane, Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka, Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins in attack.

Trippier's spot on the plane in Germany has been in doubt of late after injury doubts but the Newcastle vice-captain looked sharp when featuring at St James' Park in England's 3-0 win against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Am I ready to start? I suppose you’ll have to ask Gareth," Trippier said this week. "I’m fit. If I pick the team, then obviously I put myself in it! That’s up to Gareth, but I think everyone knows me by now, and whether I play or I don’t play, I’ll be ready.

"I felt really fit. I got another 60-odd minutes under my belt, which is always important. I’m feeling good, I’m feeling fresh, and I’m ready to go for the Euros."
