Fans have rushed to say which England player should be added to Nuneaton's famed Three Lions wall. The stunning mural, which already boasts the faces of manager Gareth Southgate and captain Harry Kane, is set to welcome another face tomorrow.

The stone wall is outside the home of the Williams family on the Bull Ring and they have arranged to pay a special homage to the England team as the squad heads into the Euros 2024 final in Berlin on Sunday (July 14).

They have arranged for the town's talented artist N4T4 to add the face of one of the Three Lions team tomorrow (July 14), but not even they know who it will be. "Honestly. I don't know (who it will be), it's the honest truth," Kate Williams said. "When we did it the first time around Paul (her husband) had arranged for Nathan (N4T4) to come and do it, but we had no idea who was going to go on there."

She added: "Obviously, we had planned Bobby Moore and Leah Williamson, we wanted to capture those historic moments, but this time around we want to capture it with a player that is right to go on the wall.

"Everyone has kind of got an opinion but ultimately we will leave it in the hands of Nathan to make that choice. Whatever it is, it will be the right one."

'It's got to be'

Ahead of the creation of the 'surprise' mural, CoventryLive readers have had their say and it has led to one front-runner- Ollie Watkins. The Aston Villa striker fired the Three Lions into the final in Berlin with his last minute strike last night (July 10).

Carol Fessey posted: Our Villa Striker! Ollie Watkins. take a bow lad you got us through to the Final while Bill Greenaway said: "It's got to be Ollie Watkins."

Emily Halfacree said: "Get ollie Watkins on there" while others just posted the striker's name. But not everyone is rooting for the Midlands striker with Samantha JJ Louise posting: "Jordan Pickford!"

All is set to be revealed by this weekend, with the new mural due to be complete by Saturday morning (July 13). As well as bringing the community together, the Williams family hope to continue their proud fund-raising tradition.

The first mural helped to raise more than £10,000 - which bought eight lifesaving defibrillators. Then, when two further murals were added- Leah Williamson and Bobby Moore- all of the funds donated were used to buy football kits for local girls' teams.

Now, a fund-raiser has been launched and the money raised will go towards buying specialist 'bleed kits' for the town. They hope to raise at least £2,000, but not only that, awareness about the dangers of knife crime.
