A statement from the Bundesliga club said additional performance-related fees will be paid in the deal, which if achieved, could reach £115m.

Since joining Dortmund, the midfielder has featured 132 times for the club, scoring 24 goals, and was named Bundesliga player of the season for the 2022/23 campaign.

Bellingham had been linked with a few major European teams, including Manchester United, before moving to Germany for a transfer fee of £25m, making him the most expensive 17-year-old in football history.

The teenager also has 24 England appearances under his belt and headed his first international goal against Iran in the 2022 World Cup.
