New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft charged with soliciting prostitution

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has been charged with soliciting prostitution, according to police in Florida.

Police said Kraft was twice filmed paying for and receiving sex at a massage parlour.

The 77-year-old has been charged as part of a widespread crackdown on sex trafficking in the area surrounding Palm Beach County.

Police said they planted undercover cameras as part of the operation.

A top police official said at a press conference: “He is being charged with the same offence as the others, and that is soliciting another to commit prostitution.

“We’re as equally stunned as anyone else.

An arrest warrant has been issued for him.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Kraft said they "categorically deny that Mr Kraft engaged in any illegal activity. Because it is a judicial matter, we will not be commenting further."

Kraft is considered one of the most powerful people in NFL.

The New England Patriots won their sixth Superbowl title this year beating the Los Angeles Rams.
