England vs Ireland fans travelling to Wembley Stadium issued with M25 traffic warning

Fans travelling to Wembley Stadium to watch the England vs Ireland match were issued a traffic warning today (Sunday, November 17). A crash on the M25 is causing serious disruption.

With kick-off scheduled for 5pm, many supporters have likely already taken to the road.

However, traffic has been severely disrupted due to an 'serious accident'. It was reported earlier that a car and a motorcycle collided near Heathrow Airport.

This caused traffic to stop between J15 and J16 while an air ambulance and other emergency services attended the scene. It has now been released anti-clockwise, but long delays in both directions remain. National Highways are reporting that congestion anti-clockwise is taking time to clear.

According to the Traffic England website, normal traffic conditions are expected between 2.30-2.45pm. Drivers caught up in the closure have been asked to remain in their vehicle.
