A major bridge in the Kingswood area of Hull will be closed for three nights later this month.

Routine inspections are set to take place at Ennerdale Bridge meaning the crossing, which takes Raich Carter Way over the River Hull, will be closed to all traffic to ensure they can be carried out safely.

The bridge will be closed between 7.30pm until 6.30am the following day on Tuesday, November 26, Wednesday, November 27, and Thursday, November 28.

Though the crossing will be closed to road traffic, footpaths will remain open. A signed diversion will be place for road users via Clough Road and Ferry Lane.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo, portfolio holder for transportation, roads, and highways at Hull City Council, said: “We understand that this is a popular route for road users, but it is crucial that these inspections are conducted, to ensure the continued safety and reliability of the structure.

“While I recognise the inconvenience these closures may cause, I am pleased that it has been possible to schedule them overnight to minimise disruption.

“Thank you, in advance, to residents and road users for their patience, understanding and cooperation whilst we carry out this crucial work.”
