Police have arrested a street beggar who was wanted by another force. Officers spotted the man whilst on routine patrols along Erdington High Street on Tuesday (Nov 5).

After questioning him, it was revealed he was wanted for offences by Lincolnshire Police Force and detained. He was also reported for breaching a Public Space Protection Order covering the area.

The team posted: "Erdington officers were patrolling the High Street today and dealt with someone who was begging. Turn out they were wanted for offences in @LincsPolice they have been arrested and now in custody. They will also be reported for breaching the #PSPO."

Erdington Sergeant Frances Clark from Birmingham Police, said back in June: “A Public Space Protection Order remains in place for Erdington High Street and anyone breaching the order by drinking alcohol, taking other intoxicating substances or behaving aggressively will be issued with a fixed penalty notice (FPN).

"Alongside our partners at Birmingham City Council, we carry out regular visits at a number of businesses in the area and have seized thousands of pounds worth of harmful illegal vapes and counterfeit goods. This sends a clear message that these items will not be tolerated in Erdington."
