Erdington high street store hit by car second time within fortnight

A car smashed into the front of the Borshch electrical store in Erdington for the second time within weeks. The vehicle is said to have careered off the junction of the High Street and Sutton New Road and gone into the shop around 1.20am on Saturday (July 6).

West Midlands Fire Service sent one crew and said no one was trapped in the car. They made the scene safe and left the incident with West Midlands Police.

Images taken on Saturday morning show shattered glass, debris and police tape cordoning off the shop front. This last incident took place at around 2.30pm on Monday, June 17. The scene was cordoned off by the fire service and police and the man and woman in the car were treated on scene for their injuries before being discharged.

West Midlands Fire Service said: "We sent one appliance around 1.20am on July 6. It was a car collision with the shop. No one was trapped. We made the scene safe and left it with the police."

The police have also been contacted for a statement. The flagship sells a range of upgraded kitchen appliances.
